15 Seconds of Fame

I know I promised a scintillating post on sewing and tapestry in Ho Chi Minh City, and I know I’m even late in posting that, but something much more exciting and interesting has reared its head. I’m sure you’ll understand when you see that:

I’m ruddy famous!!!!

2014-02-06 18.38.03Yonks and yonks ago, after returning to the UK, I offered to write a brief review of my time in Vietnam for my local newspaper and they’ve only gone and published it! It’s been put both online and in the local newspaper, but as I’m a little delayed in updating my blog, only the online version is available now. But still, look at me go!

OK, it’s a little self indulgent I admit, but you never know, it may just reach out to someone who’s weighing up a move abroad. Here’s to hoping anyway!

that is wonderful, congratulations on the article! BTW MJ is one of my favorite singers as well. I have been known to play rock my world over and over again. Great job, keep going and dance like no one is watching!

Way to go!. I had something that I submitted to a newpaper and basically forgot about it until one day I got a check in the mail. Low and behold they published it about a year after the fact. Needless to say it wasn’t a hard news piece.
I read your story, it’s really interesting, and fun pictures! Wondering how long you stayed in VN? And how the job came about in the first place. I love that there are people out there who are way more adventurous than me.

Thanks so much 🙂 It certainly was a lovely surprise! I stayed in Vietnam for 2 years in total, craziest 2 years of my life so far but loved every minute! I just happened to Google different places that offered teacher training courses and found that Vietnam was the ‘up and coming’ place for expats, so I just went for it! If you ever fancy travelling, I couldn’t recommend Vietnam more! Go for it! 😀

Well done you, it’s all good publicity for Vietnam. Are you still living there? Do you have further travel plans? We really miss it hope to pay the debts and then get back on the road.

Very true indeed! I’m always trying to push out some positivity about Vietnam because there are a lot of unnecessary scare stories out there. I moved back to the UK in December but definitely hoping to get back out there for a holiday – it’s all about saving those pennies first! 🙂
